Support Local Small Businesses! —– Author: therealdiel811 Rating: 1/5 Date: 4/10/2024, 4:32:56 PM Review: A few weeks ago I called & left a message for a quote and got a call back, i explained I’m a Stage 3C melanoma patient (an aggressive skin cancer that spreads to the rest of your body & mine made it to my lymph nodes which required surgery & now immunotherapy to try to prevent it from coming back & spreading further to my organs etc) and because of that diagnosis I was looking for window tinting for my car because for me it’s life or death when it comes to exposure to the sun so I wanted tinting that included protection from UVA/UVB rays because that is what causes my condition. I also told him because of the treatments I’m undergoing that are making me sick, I am not working right now so my finances were limited. He told me I could go with “a cheap $500 job but it WOULD NOT block BOTH UVA and UVB rays”. So he told me I should get the premium tint he sells which would cost me $749!!! I told him I would not be able to afford that at the moment (I was shocked at that price tag) but he was INSISTENT that is what I would want because that is the ONLY tint that would protect me the way I wanted because as he mentioned, somehow the cheaper tint didn’t block both UVA & UVB rays. After I got off the phone with him, something truly didn’t feel right about everything he told me so I called my brother who lives in Greenfield who has more knowledge of this kind of thing and he said I was about to get ripped off and offered to make some phone calls for me. So he did and he was right! Turns out even the cheapest tints block BOTH UVA and UVB rays!!! He found places that could do my entire car for $180 that would protect me but we settled on a place that is very highly recommended, highly rated and very affordable with the entire job costing $325!!! Their “premium” ceramic tint from them is about $100 more making it around $425 for their most expensive tint. This place is located in Waukesha and is called Blackout Window Services. I highly recommend giving them a call for quotes first or to compare prices! For this man to lie to and try to take advantage of someone he KNEW is a cancer patient that is only getting their windows tinted to try to prevent their cancer from coming back and potentially killing them, is absolutely disgusting. I just had to share my experience with the man that called me back from this number (I think his name may have been John but I am not sure) at this business because if he would take advantage of ME like that & lie to them to make $250 more, then he would do it to ANYONE! And as I mentioned, I had explained that I was unable to work at this time because of my diagnosis which required surgery on my leg and the treatments and he still lied and insisted that I needed the most expensive tint job he offers which is twice the price I’m going to pay with the company my brother found! I get that business might be tough or slow because the economy sucks right now but that is NO EXCUSE for this kind of appalling behavior. Did he really think I wouldn’t do my homework and look further into this? Maybe he thought because I presented as a woman who knew nothing about tints that I’d just be a fool and take him at his word & not look further into it. I’m sure that’s what he was counting on considering how he lied. But this lady is no dummy. I always price check and I’m willing to drive 45mins to save HUNDREDS of dollars. So even if this man does great work, he is still over charging for it. Every other place my brother called had prices that were literally hundred of dollars lower and they still had great ratings and reviews! Bottom line, I don’t recommend anyone do business with a man that behaves this way to a woman they perceive as vulnerable. Doing business with a liar is fool’s play. Do so at your own risk. & I guess he forgot that Google Reviews exist! I truly pray that people see this & realize they can get a tint job for a better price basically anywhere else & avoid doing business with a man like this. But I forgive him because I am called to do so. Offered great advice on choosing which type of film and not pushing the expensive films. He had a very busy schedule and still had all 5 of my rear windows done in ~2 hours. Product turned out great. Very happy with final result and priced fairly as even bottom tier film is a high tier to most of the other places around. Tint is okay. I dont really recommend going here for the price . Broke my door, big scratch in little rear window tint. Bubble on lower windshield was done a hour before said time.
