Review: I took my 2001 Excursion to Vernon for rocker panel rust. Vernon offered me the best price and his workmanship was beyond amazing. He was great at communicating updates and sending videos and pictures of the progress. Vernon went above and beyond and so did the guys in his shop to clean my truck. (I am a boy mom and it shows in my vehicle). I would recommend Vernon and his shop as honest and trustworthy with the best pricing around. 100% satisfied with the repair!!!

Review: In June, our 2007 Ford Explorer did not pass inspection because of rust on the frame. Our Williamsburg mechanic, who we have worked with for 14 years, highly recommended Vern and told us that he has sent numerous customers there. We took our Explorer to Vern and he gave us an estimate of $1200.
After we dropped off our Explorer, he texted a more detailed estimate with a CASH ONLY note. Initially we agreed to pay cash, but realized we would need to pay by check. When we texted Vern about this, he was resistant and told us that he is a small shop, living paycheck to paycheck. This was confusing because he told another customer that he could wait because he wasn’t living paycheck to paycheck anymore. We reached out to our Williamsburg mechanic who called Vern to vouch for our integrity. Our mechanic also reached out to several other previous customers to ask if they had been treated this way. Eventually, Vern agreed to take a check.
When we arrived to pick up the Explorer on July 3rd, we gave Vern a check for $1200, and we immediately drove to our mechanic so that we could get our inspection sticker. We were informed very quickly that our car would not pass inspection. There were still multiple areas of rust on the frame, some of them mere inches away from other places that Vern had repaired. When we contacted Vern about this, he said that it was an “honest mistake” and that he would work with us on the pricing to finish the repair. We asked him to stand by his original estimate. He had told us that if he made a mistake on his estimate that he would stand by it, and that he would absorb the difference. At no time during the repair period did he communicate that there were additional repairs to be done.
On July 4th, after asking him to stand by his original estimate, he texted us and said that he would no longer do business with us and that we were not to call his shop. Our mechanic has also reached out to him multiple times with no answer. Now we have paid $1200, and we have a vehicle that will not pass inspection. I have included photos of the holes that remained after Vern worked on our car that he never mentioned anything to us about.
It is unfortunate that Vern would treat customers and another trustworthy mechanic (with a great reputation in Williamsburg) this poorly. It is also unfortunate that someone who advertises being a “veteran owned and operated business” would conduct business with a tremendous lack of integrity.

Review: Truly appreciated the professionalism and genuine hospitality offered by Vern, Mike, and the team. Hired Vern to restore the undercarriage to my 2006 Jeep Wrangler and was extremely satisfied by the work and expertise Vern applied throughout the process. The short of it….. Gloucester Restoration ROCKS!! So pleased with the work and price. Vern and his crew are top notch. Strongly recommend to all who need some vehicle attention / repairs.

The long of it,… if you are still reading…
The quote: Vern throughly inspected the vehicle for the work to be done and offered a quote that was both fair and detailed. Vern stayed true to the quote, with no hidden fees or charges. Vern and the team actually took the time to share some keen observations that would ensure the longevity of the work done and offered to perform the recommendation at no additional cost.
The work: all work was completed on time. Vern took the time to share and catalogue the work process, inviting me back to see the repairs as it transpired. Mike (the primary restoration specialist on the Jeep) was a consumate professional, to which his work clearly speaks for itself. Both Vern and Mike are true experts in their tradecraft.
The future: I look forward to seeing Vern and his team again for any future vehcile work that may be needed.

Review: Great customer service. I had some frame rust repaired on my truck and he gave me a great price and even threw in a cab corner replacement for free. Got the job done in good time and 3 days later I dragged a shed across a clients property as seen in my picture. The truck has held up great!

Review: I brought my truck to about 5 different shops trying to get my shifting issue diagnosed and none of the shops could figure it out left my truck here for 2 days and they had it figured out. My truck is back to new again. Prices were very fair too. They went above and beyond what they had to do I will be coming back here regularly!

Review: I brought my truck to about 5 different shops trying to get my shifting issue diagnosed and none of the shops could figure it out left my truck here for 2 days and they had it figured out. Review: I failed inspection for a long list of problems from a shop down the road. I felt like i got price gouged. I saw gloucester restorations sign driving by and called. Vern price matched my original quote and saved me alot of money. I inspected everything he touched on my vehicle. Everything looked really good. Amazing work for the price. Passed inspection with no problem. Honest and a hard worker. You can tell he is a veteran, I didn’t even have to ask.

Review: Gloucester Restorations did a transmission job on my 2005 Chevy Malibu. I was referred to this shop through a friend. Vernon found me a transmission half the price what I was quoted. He also matched my quote from my old mechanic and saved me a couple THOUSAND DOLLARS. I waited 60 days before I left my review. EXCELLENT WORK! This shop is a hidden gem in Gloucester. Review: Vernon does great work in a timely fashion. He has always hit the mark for when he said he would complete my jobs, and his price is extremely competitive and affordable. He’s fair and honest and I would highly recommend him.
