Review: So I’m sitting in my van with my wife and daughter. Daughter is sleeping. We’re in the Stratton parking lot. The car is on and heater is running. Fluids were checked before we left NYC. And suddenly, hissssssss, white steam starts blowing from under the hood. It starts to creep into the cabin. My wife grabs our daughter and we both immediately exit the van. After a few minutes, the smoke stops. I look under the hood and under the van. There’s too much snow melt, but I already know the coolant leaked. Ugh. Maybe we can hack it by putting some water in the tank and just getting to a gas station? But, what if the problem is worse? What if we get stuck on the road, in the cold, in the dark? I start calling mechanics. Everyone is closed until Monday or even Tuesday. Of course they are. It’s the middle of nowhere. And then, by luck, I spot Northshire and it says 24 hours. I call and Jake immediately picks up the phone. I describe the issue and he says, No problem. Have it towed to the shop and he can fix it. YES! The tow truck gets it to the shop within a couple of hours. Jake immediately diagnosed the issue – busted radiator. Shoot! He immediately gets on the phone to call around for the part. But just because he’s open 24/7 doesn’t mean parts dealers are. He puts in the order for Tuesday, but keeps working the phones to see if someone might have it sooner. In the meantime, he offers to drive all the way back to Stratton, pick up my family and friends and take us all back to our inn. He made two trips! I can stop here and Northshire would already get 5 stars, even if they couldn’t fix the issue. But, over the next 48 hours, he keeps me posted via calls and text. He found a part on Monday and had one of his mechanics pick it up that afternoon. And by Tuesday morning, they had my van running again! If Jake wanted, he could have charged anything and I’d pay since I just felt so grateful. But he gave me a very fair price (honestly, exactly what I expected since I’d been through this problem before with another vehicle). My van made it back home to NYC and runs as good as new. My hope in humanity has been restored. What are the chances of finding a mechanic like Jake available 24 hours in a sleepy VT town? Anyway, Thank you Jake and Tamara and your awesome team Henry and Frank! You guys rock!!!

Review: Very customer service oriented and friendly. Able to get me in late afternoon, Friday 12/29, after I picked up a screw in my tire. I’m not local, but for those that are, you should consider Northshire Automotive for your needs.
