After I agreed to a price to replace the part, they shopped around and found a bracket that costs $50.00, saving me about $500.00. The process took a while. They kept me informed with phone calls and scheduled the repair when the part came in. This job should have been a nusiance to them, but they treated me like I was their most important customer. The repair took about an hour. Every employee was professional and interested in me having a good experience. I would go to them for any service they offer. I had a blown Bose amp in a Buick Enclave. Being retired and on a fixed budget my only thoughts were seeing $$ adding up and a cost I would need to break the piggy to pay for. I went to two other audio installers beforehand because I believe in supporting local business, however without mentioning their business names, they quoted me something I would expect NASA engineers to charge me while sunbathing on the dark side of the moon. Maybe they were trying to take advantage of a Army Vet/Senior citizen or eat Maine Lobster for a year, but I continued to check around. Thank the Lord I did and found Unique Audio in Spartanburg. My car was done in a snap and my wife can drive her Buick with a smile on her face rather than frowny face every time we go to bed. It was assumed by a tech that a blown speaker may have caused the amp to blow, but when I showed Mclane the electrical door plug that came lose inside of the passenger back door jam, he had it snapped in and saved me from going to a body shop looking for help. So, nope no bad speaker. Mclane went the extra mile and he didn’t have to. I owe him many thanks. The courtesy of people helping people was something I was raised with. Now a days it’s hard to find good people you can trust or willing to take a moment to assist without looking for a payday. I’m thankful everyday and try to help people as much as possible. I had the 5G Remote start installed in my car now that 3G no longer works. The price was very reasonable. After I checked with Nortons Stereo because they were 10 minutes from my house and they wanted almost $1k. A friend recommended Unique which is over an hour away but after speaking with Jonathan I knew I found the place to use. It took 2 hours to install the new system. I had 4 kicker door speakers installed about 2 years ago. They all worked a year maximum! The right front and left rear quit completely. The drivers front would go in and out and work about 25% of the time. I went back to Unique for them to check everything since there was a “LIFETIME” labor warranty and I felt like it was a wiring issue. After having my system checked at Unique I was told that me using streaming apps had blown the speakers due to poor audio quality (I’m and older white male that streams the NASCAR broadcast) . They even had a price quote of $400+ ready for me as soon as they pulled my truck around. This just didn’t sit right with me that $400+ only last a year or 2 when using streaming apps(salesman’s exact words). So I decided to save the money and buy a cheap set off Amazon if the good ones were only good for a year or 2 anyways. Once I started the installation on the new cheap speakers I quickly realized that not a single thing was checked by anyone at Unique Audio when I took it to have it checked!!! The wires were broken and corroded in every door that was not working. I took pictures (posted below) and went back to Unique Audio. At first the exact same guy that told me my speakers were bad due to streaming apps and I needed a new system told me that the pictures were not there work. I showed him a picture or the actual speakers and my receipt and changed his story to “we used to do it that way but dont anymore “!! So I was lied to THREE TIMES at this point. I know that new building cost money but not honoring a “LIFETIME” warranty to make more sales to help the bottom line is just wrong no matter which way they want to spin it! I had two great experiences with these folks and I can’t wait to figure out another job for them to do. I had two appointments with them. Both times they charged me less than what they quoted me. While I was waiting for the work to be done the staff took the time to explain every question I had. Given the opportunity to upsell me on products that I didn’t need, they instead explained to me what I had and why I should be ok with it. I was initially confused by this because I thought sales folks were there to sell but instead they educated me. The customer experience was clearly more important to them than the sell. Good luck finding a business like this these days.
