Finally at 11:40 a man picked the phone up and explained to me that they don’t do online anything and the estimate I completed online was a complete waste of my time. He offered no apology or show of empathy for wasting a potential customer’s time. I didn’t give him any indication at this point that I was annoyed and began to ask how far out his appointments are booked. He told me a week typically and that was great news. At this point I’m responding favorably and asked him to ballpark a respray on a bumper cover and provided a little details. He quoted me some kinda policy about having an appointment before giving an estimate. I responded by saying that I was not ready to bring it in as I was waiting for the state to process paperwork on the car first and told him I would not hold him to a ballpark price and he seemed almost offended at the idea of me asking him how much automotive paint work would cost. He gave me some explanation how my question was impossible to answer, like only an idiot would ask a place that only does body work to give a noncommittal ballpark figure for body work. I ended the call politely and called a shop a couple miles away and asked the same question. The other body shop (Nick’s) said $200 if it’s just a blend could be much more if they needed to pull it and repair the cover and it would not be more than $700 unless he’s missing details I didn’t share. Was that so hard Maaco guy? Maybe Maaco is short staffed, maybe they have more work than they need, I dunno but it was work just getting them to pick up the phone. After reading the other reviews I think it’s gonna be a pass this time.
