Tint World in Gulfport

Author: Krista Hurst Rating: 1/5 Date: 12/11/2024, 8:44:09 PM Review: UPDATED REVIEW 12/11/24 I initially left a positive review for this shop because of their friendly service, but my experience took a drastic turn for the worse after the work was completed. The tint job they performed started flaking within days, and despite its lifetime warranty, they blamed me and my kids for the issue and would not resolve it. They installed tvs on the exterior of the headrests instead of inside, as agreed, leaving visible wires, holes in my leather seats, and flimsy, non-functional switches. The radio and speaker system were another disaster: I requested a discreet setup under the seat, but they installed oversized subwoofers that rendered my rear seats unusable, with visible carpet damage, weather tech mats, and wires. Additionally, the backup camera they installed was off-center and unusable in rain or at night with less visibility area than the original. After returning from vacation, I tried for months to get the issues resolved, but the shop failed to do it after multiple promises to fix everything. My van’s electronics were so poorly wired that Nissan had to disconnect everything to stop it from damaging the vehicle, costing me over $3,000 to repair my AC, ceiling, and glovebox. On top of that, the shop kept the subs I paid for, didn’t refund me, and left me with a radio that shorts out and a failing battery. Communication eventually ceased entirely, with the manager and owner ignoring my calls and messages for months. After nearly a year of unresolved issues and extensive damage to my vehicle, I’m left with a $2,000 price increase that was paid after the initial payment (prior to seeing this) and a van in worse condition than before. I updated this review to warn others against trusting this shop. One thing I did not mention, was this was a Christmas present for my children in 2023 that was paid for prior to Christmas and they did not schedule me in until spring break of 2024. They asked me to write a good review if they paid for 2 days of my rental because they didn’t have the stuff to complete the job as they thought, costing me more in rental fees. There is so much more I could add to this review but not enough characters to support it. I am thoroughly satisfied with both the window tinting and customer service I received. From the initial inquiry to the completion of the tinting process, the staff demonstrated professionalism and expertise. They listened attentively to my preferences and provided helpful guidance in choosing the right tint for my vehicle. The installation was carried out meticulously, resulting in flawless results that exceeded my expectations. Additionally, their follow-up after the service to ensure my satisfaction showcased their commitment to customer care. When he finally provided a quote the next day, he said it would be $800 for just the window trim, not even covering the other chrome areas. I researched, and the material costs around $245, so I can’t see how labor justifies an extra $600. When I questioned the price, he hung up on me. I was quoted a price on the phone and decided to make the appointment. So when I arrived I told big fat Mitch what was quoted to me and he has a very bad attitude. Once was car was brought to the front I told them they forgot to put a strip across the front windshield. They tried to say that wasn’t part of the package which was a lie. So when I get home I decide to wipe the water spots off the outside of my car and guess what I find? A long scratch on the front of my hood by the Kia sign. So I immediately call them to tell them and guess what they had the nerve to say it didn’t happen at there shop! Hold on wait a minute now a brand new car with 150 miles on it and I know it wasn’t there before I got there. When I tell you I acted all the way up! So they agreed to buff out the scratch for free the next day. Long story short make sure you pay attention to your vehicle before and after because they will lie about it. I will never go there again nor will I recommend this place to anyone. When I went to pick my car up the windshield wasnt tinted. When I asked why they stated that the quote for a full car doesnt include the windshield. I literally told him before they started that I wanted it as dark as legally possible. I cant help feel that they do this intentionally to try to force you into paying the extra $200 for the windshield. If he would have quoted me correctly and informed me that the price didnt include the windshield I would not have done it. When I raised my concerns over his deceptive marketing he just tried to upsell the windshield. Even given my overall bad attitude following the incident, Mr. Grage continued to communicate professionally with me and has gone above and beyond to earn my business back. Tint World has always done phenomenal work for me, and it seems I was too quick to let one hiccup ruin my opinion of them. By taking the time to communicate with me personally to fix the issue, Mr. Grage has shown me that Tint World really does care about their customer’s opinions. And if you want a perfect detailing or window tinting done in your vehicle, Tint World is the place to go for sure. 👍👍 ***Addition*** Ceramic coating came out flawless. I couldn’t ask for a better result.
