We brought our golf cart to Slim’s Service cuz it wasn’t running and they said they’d take a look at it, plenty of opportunity to tell us there was an $86 diagnostic fee, but no mention of the charge. Got a call the next day, they said it would cost $686 for repairs, we declined and said we couldn’t afford it at this time. They said we owe $86 (surprise) for the diagnostic fee and the golf cart wouldn’t be released until this is paid. NOT happy about this, but we went with our truck and trailer after a long days work to pay the fee, and pick up the golf cart, the owner “DAVE UBL” said, just one problem, the golf cart isn’t here, it’s at my house. WHAT?? Since when do people haul other people’s property around without permission! Why to the house? He said they needed space in the garage, then why couldn’t they just push it outside and tuck it around a corner. So, we said where is your house, we will go get it. NOPE, don’t want to give you my address he said, you will have to wait until I’m done working at 7:00 and you can follow me there. It was 6:00 at the time. WHAT? WOW, what customer service. We decided to wait til 7:00 because we just wanted our property. At 6:50 he called and said darn, I just got a call from the state patrol and he needed to go on a tow. Told us we would have to WAIT until 8 or 8:30 to pick it up. STILL, would not let us go get the cart at his house. WHY IT WAS THERE I’LL NEVER KNOW. Then he offered to deliver it the next morning, but at this point we felt like this guy couldn’t be trusted and didn’t want him to come to our house, who knows if he would’ve come up with another reason not to deliver it. We called the local sheriff’s department and got his address and went to the house. Told the deputy what was up in case there was confrontation. We called DAVE numerous, probably 6 times to tell him we were coming and he wasn’t answering his phone, we drove out back, found him and our golf cart, loaded it up, and got the hell out!! He did not say a word. Unbelievable we just got home at 9:00 at night after all this inconvenience. How can you call yourself a SERVICE STATION!!! I don’t believe the previous posts saying there was no charge. Go somewhere else if you actually want to be treated like a customer should. THIS GUY IS A CROOK!!! Instead of towing himself and charging me a tow he pulled my tire off at quick trip went to his shop installed it. And went back to my car and drove my car back to his shop for the other tire. Called Slim’s early the next morning, and was seen promptly. Rep went with me for a test drive to evaluate the potential issue, and hoisted my car up for an examination afterwards. Ultimately found no issues needing immediate repair, so they charged me nothing for the time. Exceptional customer service both before and during the appointment.
