Long story short, I paid $690 for a full ceramic tint with sunstrip and $450 for a roof and mirror cap wrap. I know what you’re probably thinking – that’s expensive! Yeah, I thought so too, but my thought process is “pay a lot once for a quality job, and never have to worry about it again”. Unfortunately, the job done at A2Customs was not quality. After the first visit at A2Customs, I had a problem with the sunstrip, which was handcut because my car was a new model (it’s a 2024 Integra, but they were released in 2023) and the computer which normally prints the cutouts for the tints is waiting for an update. The sunstrip was basically a rainbow instead of straight, and was not flush with the rearview mirror frits as I had requested. I was told this would be redone. One of the windows had two bubbles, I was also told they would take a look at it/redo. There was also a ton of creases and lumps on the roof wrap, and a few creases on the mirror caps, which were also going to be redone. Additionally, the roof wrap was cut a bit too short near the windshield weather strip, so some of the factory paint was still seen, but this would be redone as well. After the first visit I sent a detailed email outlining all the issues with pictures of what needed to be done during the second visit. After the second visit at A2Customs, the one thing I can say was redone well were the creases in the mirror caps. The window still had both bubbles, but I was informed that one of them is water and it’ll go away, but they didn’t see the other one until I pointed it out once I was picking up the car (it was in the detailed email I had sent before the second visit). I was told that this will be redone on a third visit. The roof wrap was basically the same and I was told that the lumps and creases are normal. Now I know nothing about wraps, but I’ve never seen a wrap on another car that looked like that. Also, the fix for the roof wrap where it was cut short was just adding a small piece of vinyl and covering up the paint, which is quite noticeable. I didn’t notice at the shop since I believed them when they said it’s not noticeable and didn’t even look closely, but that was my mistake. Then I was told that the sunstrip was not redone since they still need a computer update, so I’m looking at a week – 6 month wait for whenever the update is available. However, at the first visit they were very quick to take my money even though their computer was unable to print the sunstrip for my car. So this means in total, I have to pay $1140 and visit the shop 4 times (1st + 2nd + window bubble + sunstrip) for a complete quality job. I would have given them 1 star, but Eric offered to install paint protection film on the door handle sills for free after the second visit. It’s a very nice gesture, but I would much rather have gotten a quality job than free PPF on the door handle sills. All in all, if I had known this was going to be the quality of work for the hefty price, I definitely would have kept my money in my pocket or have gone elsewhere. —– Author: avalonmaver1k tekk Rating: 2/5 Date: 12/4/2023, 9:42:51 PM Review: I had first heard about this place from a Michigan alum buddy who runs a brokerage firm in Michigan and has had work done on both of his Mercedes vehicles. While I do believe that they do decent work here, after calling here more than once to inquire on potential Vinyl Wrap and tint for my daily driver (’21 G Wagon) I received the same price quote from a ‘Meghan’ and also a gentleman (not the owner)- which is good (consistency in pricing is ALWAYS a good thing to confirm!). Upon calling one final time on the weekend (earlier this year) to schedule the actual work, the owner himself provided me with a quote (for the same exact amount of work!) which was about $600 higher than the quotes from either of two other employees. The discrepancy was not large amount of all and I’ll gladly pay generously for good, professional auto accessorizing, but if there’s one thing that’s a major red flag for me, it’s blatant price gouging/inconsistency. After having shared this information with my broker friend in MI, he referred me to another place in Novi that he now goes to for wraps, PPF, tint etc. as the PPF that he had installed at A2 Customs started to become loose around the various areas along fenders of both of his cars. In summary, A2 probably does decent work, but they should refine their pricing model (and maybe hire someone to answer the phone in the afternoon- called there one final time this past Fall after 4pm and somebody kept answering the phone on first/second ring and then slamming it down hard!…maybe invest in an answering machine?…smh —– Author: Oscyjack Rating: 5/5 Date: 1/29/2023, 5:23:23 AM Review: Great experience. Fair upfront pricing, easy scheduling, friendly and knowledgeable staff, good product, great install, had my car back in like 60/90 minutes. Looks great. Can definitely recommend them. They even laminated my temp tag for me when I was headed out the door. —– Author: DonnaLeegolfho57 Rating: 5/5 Date: 1/10/2023, 1:36:55 PM Review: I bought my 2023 Tesla Y long range in the beginning of December, so I immediately took it to A2 customs in Ann Arbor, Michigan to get paint protection on the front end of my car. (The part that gets the worst beating from the roads). Eric Carpenter the proprietor was excellent. He guided me as to which product I should use. I had another one in mind but he convinced me to use Hexis brand which he told me had a lifetime guarantee they didn’t spend a ton of money on marketing and was an equally good or better product than the one I thought I wanted. The building and place of business was super nice and clean. Everything was clearly explained, they do a lot of Tesla’s there which made me feel confident with them. It is winter here in Michigan so he recommended me leave the car overnight so they can put it under the lights to make sure it took really well. When I picked up my car, it looked great. I couldn’t even see where it was put on which is a great sign (from everything I read a good job is a job that you can’t see ), I would definitely recommend A2 Customs to anyone who wants to protect their vehicle. Eric will give you what you want and need ,he does not try to upsell you and he’s very honest when you ask him questions, his price was great, and I love the lifetime guarantee. I didn’t want to gamble with inferior product and installation elsewhere even at half price. A2 did not disappoint. Premium 3M film with flawless install. I’ve had numerous cars with tinted windows and there has always been random bubbles or trapped dust but A2 had none. Install did not require the entire time allotted for the appointment. Shop is unassuming from the outside but is very professional and well equipped with specialized lighting for film installation. Appointments are scheduled well in advance so be aware of the lead time although is probably seasonal. Nice text service for appointment reminders and confirmation. Tint looks awesome so very satisfied. Go here for professional tint or wrap.
