Author: Michael Presnell Rating: 5/5 Date: 12/5/2024, 5:44:44 PM Review: I bought a home on 13FEB22 and the Home Inspector explained; I had leaking patio doors and they would eventually need replaced. I contacted Midway Windows and Doors in Chicago and was referred to Shawn Illgen; however I could not find the Order Number associated with my windows/doors. We tried numerous ways but were not successful. Shawn reassured me that if I could get the order numbers he could assist in replacing both Sashes. Approximately 1 year (November 2023) later I found the numbers and contacted Shawn and he immediately started the Warranty Replacement process and he also contacted Wisconsin Builders and spoke with Nick about getting me the replacements I needed. Keep in mind it was over a year later but in a few months my Replacement Sashes arrived . Today 06Dec24/ over 6 months later I called Shawn and explained i was missing 4 door Tabs that help insulate. Shawn immediately took the time to stop what he was working on and shipped me my Tabs and to his credit sent a couple of extras; if I ever needed them in the future. In summary this has been about a 26 month process. This is an overwhelmingly positive experience and a reflection of Midway Window and Glass and their commitment to their Products and Customer Service. Customer service is fantastic, the windows are high quality, a ton of different options and their warranties are the best! My installers also said the vinyl window frames are solid and made well, which helps them w/ the installation. Air leaks from the window frame shortly after they were installed. This was not related to the installation. When trying to get customer service, I tried several times with no response. I finally sent a message that said that I regret buying Alliance windows. After that someone contacted and gave me vague half hearted service. At one point I was told that my style of window wasn’t made anymore so I would have to fix it myself. Everything from the quality of the windows to the customer service as been excellent. Today all of the windows exterior color has faded from brown to orange. We contacted the supplier (Local Lumber Company) fall 2021. We were then passed on the Midway and they said they would get to it when warmer weather returns in 2022. We have contacted midway many times over the past few months seeking a solution, we were initially told they would get right on it. In the past month, we have called weekly and sent 3 emails, to date no responses. Today I sent an email to the same person (Manager of service and product development) we have reached out to before. Included in the communication is the President and Customer service. I will update the review as the saga continues. Midway had a company “Blue Rivers” as I understand it, is the company that provides the paint for window framing. The 2 man team showed up, did an exceptional job in prep, recoloring and cleanup. Very professional group. I will move my rating to 3 stars as we now have a good repair. Midway was a challenge as time wore on and has some opportunity in communication training areas. —– Author: Curt I Rating: 1/5 Date: 5/16/2022, 3:45:06 PM Review: Bought a house with Alliance windows. Called Midway to come out and look at several issues from the springs, to locking, to the window stool. Was told multiple times by secretary that someone would call. Never got a phone call. Sent several emails never got those back. Called multiple times again finally spoke to someone and they told me where to look for the installation number. Took all of my windows apart still can’t find the number. Called back, nothing. Very poor customer service! When it’s time for new windows, I’ll go somewhere else!
