I reached out to a few shops in my area to get a quote for ceramic coating and UV tint for the front windows. Keith responded and spent extra time patiently answering all of my questions since I’m new to the world of tint and coatings. Their pricing is very competitive and comes with a lifetime warranty. That coupled with their excellent reviews made the decision to use Urban Customs easy. I just got my car back after having the Ceramic Pro Ion coating put on along with UV tint and my car looks amazing! The metallic paint stands out even more with the extra glossy look, and my car looks better than the day I drove it off the lot. Keith has excellent communication and really went above and beyond to make sure I was totally happy with the results. Tyson was wonderful as well. Got a few quotes around the metro area and decided to go with Urban Customs based on reviews and fair pricing. Got my 24 Subaru tinted and Keith was a great communicator, and the guys in the shop knew what they were doing. Super friendly staff which made it an easy process. Had one little bubble pop up on one of the windows after a few days, texted Keith, and got in later that week to fix it. He saw the install in person and agreed it was not acceptable. He stated that it was likely work done by an employee that was recently terminated. He is covering the cost to have the install fixed by my shop of choice. If I was rating Josh and the team at Rocky Mountain Eurosport, this a 5 star follow-through. I’m not happy about how I was treated by the GM, Keith, especially when he gave me answers to concerns that are in my opinion, dishonest. But I’m happy that ownership responded with respect and decency. Original review below: My mom just purchased a new BMW X3 m40i. I wanted to help her get it protected from rock chips and paint damage with PPF. Urban Customs was very close to her and the reviews made it seem like this was a great place run by an honest person. Unfortunately not the case. I spoke with Keith and ordered the Ceramic Pro “Ultimate Armor” package as advertised on their website which is a full front PPF package and two layer ceramic coating. I’ve had a full front PPF installed on my personal car before and I knew a bit about the process and what to expect. Unfortunately I did not expect the poor quality of install that I saw when I went with my mom to pick up the vehicle. See the attached photos for examples but needless to say they only installed maybe 2/3 of the PPF that was advertised on the package, and half of that was installed poorly and with no edge wrap. Here’s a list of problems with the install that another, more reputable shop pointed out: -No edges were wrapped -Large gaps where impact damage may occur -Fender Flares were not installed -None of the black accent pieces were installed (Grille, bumper accents, mirrors) -Serious distortion and work marks in the PPF (lift lines, stretch lines, silvering) Keith wasn’t there when we picked up the car so I gave him a call the next business day. I expressed some of the concerns about the work to Keith and here’s what he initially told me. I’ll paraphrase: He said that he never wrapped edges unless specifically requested, and that he doesn’t warranty any wrapped edges because the heat from the engine will cause the wrapped edges to peel. Now I know a bit about PPF but I’m not an expert or someone in the industry, I just thought it sounded fishy. Even Continental Collision when they fixed my hood from impact damage, replaced my PPF with wrapped edges. I said thank you for the explanation, and set up an appointment to go back in and see if some of these problems could be fixed. But after that I called my old detail shop in Arizona, as well as spoke to a few shops around town as well as to some industry people online. They were aghast at what Keith had told me. One industry worker even said about the “engine heat”: “That’s the biggest lie I’ve ever heard in the PPF industry. If a shop doesn’t wrap the edges of your install, go elsewhere. They cut corners. ” At this point I was no longer interested in working with Keith or Urban Customs because it had become crystal clear that he was both doing poor quality work, and also lying to his customers. I called him back that evening and stated that we do not want to do business with him anymore because of both the quality of the install and the questionable things he was telling me (I didn’t say lies, but let’s be clear, he was lying to justify poor quality work). We requested they remove the PPF since we were going to have to get the work done elsewhere if we wanted it done right. I offered to pay for the labor cost but did not want to pay the full price, again since the work was bad and I would have to pay more to get it done elsewhere. That’s when Keith lost it. He stated among other things that “I don’t do refunds” and “You will absolutely pay the full invoice”. He offered to fix the hood and the hood only. Called for an appointment and he got me in by moving work around. He did the hood, front, sides, windows with ceramic film. Took 6 hours but well worth the wait and cost. He quoted me a very good price and after they got done, he dropped the price by 100 because the front took less time. One window started peeling and he offered to fix it and check on the rest of the tints free of charge. Truly a great place to get window tinting done and has the best pricing in the area.
