Ariel will gladly con you, actually DAMAGE your vehicle, and send you on your way. Summary: This shop lured me in with a lowball quote of $319 for ceramic tint, only to double the price once I arrived, claiming the original quote was for an inferior tint film. Despite paying $707 for quality tint, I received sloppy work that left debris, water streaks, and even dirt on the “warranty” brochure. Far worse, they actually chipped the paint on my brand-new car, which two body shops confirmed was fresh damage and likely caused during the tinting process. When confronted, the owner, Ariel, denied responsibility, refused to show install footage, and left me with paint repair quotes of up to $5,000. Avoid this shop AT ALL COSTS. Full Story: I was initially quoted $319 for a “Black Friday special,” which included ceramic tint for the side and rear windows ($119 for their supposed “in-house brand” of ceramic tint) plus $200 for the windshield. When I arrived, Ariel, the owner, immediately dismissed the quote, explaining it was for an extremely low-quality ceramic film with poor heat rejection compared to their premium Solar Gard films. Using a deceptive heat-rejection lamp display, he tried to convince me that the in-house film was ceramic, though it clearly wasn’t. The total for actual quality tint ended up being $650, or $707 out the door—more than double the original quote. This bait-and-switch should have been my first warning sign. While the tint job itself was okay, the execution was sloppy. I noticed bits of trash, adhesive, and water leakage near the driver’s side entry. Even the warranty brochure was covered in dirt and grime, showing a complete lack of pride in their work. Once I got home, I found dirt smudges and marks on my paint in areas they had no reason to touch. The worst discovery came when I noticed a paint chip directly below the driver’s window trim. The chip, which nicked the window trim, then struck the paint directly below and cut through to the primer, clearly occurred during the tint job—it was in a downward motion, making it impossible to be from a road rock. To confirm, I sourced photos from the dealership and transport company (the car was delivered just 6 days prior to the tint job), both showing no damage before I brought the car in. Two body shops analyzed the chip and confirmed it was fresh, not a rock chip, and likely caused during the tint installation. One shop even mentioned seeing this exact type of damage from other tint shops. Their repair estimates ranged from $2,500 to $5,000. When I confronted Ariel, he completely denied responsibility. I requested the camera footage of the installation to give them the benefit of the doubt, but Ariel refused to provide it. If they were confident they didn’t cause the damage, there would be no reason to withhold the footage. Instead, they left me with a damaged car, an inflated tint bill, and zero resolution. This shop operates with shady bait-and-switch tactics, provides subpar service, and takes zero accountability for the damage they cause. If you care about your car, DO NOT trust them with anything – be it tint, PPF, or any other service. Just stay FAR AWAY. UPDATE: Of course, cue the generic reply from the corporate overlords of this shady shop. I have filed a complaint with the BBB against Jet Black Tint and I suggest anyone reading this look into their rating and number of complaints against them, because it is NOT good. They clearly get people with <10 reviews to post most of the 5-star reviews here. I went to get my tint re done because there were countless dust bubbles and mardan refused to take responsibility and tried claiming that they were dirt. I then got a car wash the next day and the bubbles were definitely not dirt and he tried charging me again to get it re done even though I had a lifetime warranty ? Not to mention the fact that he was smoking a vape / cigarette the entire time he was talking to me and even had the audacity to sit in MY CAR with his smoke device in hand. My car still looks horrible and I’m honestly considering peeling it off and getting it done again somewhere else RIP to my $400 but not worth the headache. I beg anyone reading this to not go here because it caused a hassle for me, the tint is installed by beginners, and they will attack you if they were the ones that messed up the job. From the start Ariel was so helpful and informative. Explained everything in full detail and was accommodating on getting us in last minute. Was told I could get 20% tint for my sedan and made an appointment. When I went in they told me 20% tint would be cost extra and I’d have to get 35%. Fair pricing, fast service, and really decent and nice overall people.
