I took the advice of the installer for a backup camera and new stereo unit with a large screen to replace the stock radio. I usually research purchases before buying, but this one time I didn’t. My mistake! I later found out I paid more than 3x the price I could have got it online. It wasn’t connected to the controller on my steering wheel. The backup camera and monitor screen have lower resolution than a cheaper system I had in another car. The new panel for the new stereo wasn’t attached properly and the hazard light button didn’t work. I returned to have the hazard button fixed by attaching the panel properly. I inquired about the steering wheel controlling the radio and was told I needed to purchase a module for more money. I agreed because it’s dangerous driving and trying to adjust the volume on the new system. After waiting for over an hour and a half I was told that the radio doesn’t have an input for the controller module and if I wanted to control the radio with the steering wheel controls I would have to buy another stereo system that costs over $700 without installation! I was furious! I said why none of this was explained to me beforehand and told it could be done. The owner tried to say he explained it to me when I bought the unit last month, but I spoke to the installer and not him. He made no effort to resolve the issue, my time wasted and just tried to sell me another stereo so I said give me my car and I’m outta here. I’m never coming back here! We had Dream Audio install a stereo and speakers in our car and now we wish we had never walked into their shop. Their products and pricing seem decent, but the quality of service is despicable. The very first issue was apparent, after the installation the remote locks/alarm stopped working. The second issue was that the fader (balance from front to back) did not work. Lastly, the wire connections were not correct as the speakers fade in and out constantly accompanied by a crackling sound. When we took the car back, they insisted that they had nothing to do with the locks/alarm issue and they stated that because of the type of stereo we purchased they could not engage the fader (all the speakers had to be on the same connection). The car is a BMW so they thought that maybe the lock/alarm issue was due to the original stereo. They reinstalled it but the locks/alarm still did not work. We decided at that point that we did not want them to do anything else to the car in fear that they may mess something else up. It has been a month and we have not had time to search out an alternate place to take the car yet. Yesterday, the stereo, which apparently was not mounted properly, worked its way back into the dash out of the bracket that it was supposed to be attached to. We have scheduled a consultation with an audio place that was recommended to us by a friend.
