No more dropping your car off and waiting for your mechanic to get to it. It’s like making a dentist appointment and they get to it right away. Also, they look for any looming issues that you would expect your mechanic to process but never do. But here’s the kicker!!! They quoted me a price and when I went to pick up my truck … it was about a third less than the quote. Very poor communication skills, poor attention to detail, zero customer service, and a touch of dishonesty. Four big red flags here. I had an 8 a.m. appointment to get a smog test. Arrived a few minutes early and was then told that this business does not actually pay attention to appointments and work on my car would be started by 11 a.m. When I suggested that it might be a good idea to tell people that appointments don’t mean anything, I was told that the woman who does the scheduling should have told me, and if not it would be included in text message sent the day before the so-called appointment. Neither of these things were done. The man then told me that he’d make sure my car would be the next vehicle tested, and to return at 9:30. When I returned at 9:30 a different man was behind the counter and nothing had been done with my car. After essentially repeating the same ‘we don’t do appointments’ conversation and after this new person dismissed my concerns and firmly stated that “Claire always tells everyone that all appointments are for a 4 hour window” and that they would start on my car at 11. Period. At that point I cancelled the work and left. I made an 8 a.m. appointment at another Morro Bay auto shop the next day. I was done and in and out in less than 20 minutes, AND paid $30 less than the price quoted at this business. I don’t know about other aspects, but if you’re simply looking a smog test, I would definitely recommend you look elsewhere.
